Wilderness House

Wilderness House is a New England-based retail chain that sells, rents, and repairs top-of-the-line outdoor recreation equipment.  Acquired by the Snow Connect management team in 2009, Wilderness House turned to 829 Studios to design and brand the company’s online presence. The site provides detailed information about Wilderness House’s multiple locations, expert store employees, brands carried, and services offered. The site also features a dynamic events calendar and blog where the Wilderness House team can post news, trips, and promotional information. Wilderness House also aimed to be the first New England retailer to offer an online ski and bike rental platform where users could reserve equipment online and pick it up in-store.

After launching the new Wilderness House website in January 2010, the company saw positive results almost instantly. Wilderness House is currently at the top of Google search results for “Boston ski rentals” and the online reservation system has been an overnight success. The company expects the positive trend to continue each season as new equipment arrives and additional services are offered.
